a penchant for out-of-tune stuff

mar 24. reasons
was once asked for a reason for liking music so much. it's another je ne sais quoi thing. but i guess music takes no sides, and interpretation is up for grabs. so i guess that's it.
-------

feb 9. the end has a start
you know what. i am still riding on the highs from the "phew, thank god 2008 is over" effect; not that it was particularly bad, or that the year ahead would be like wowow, but i've got this 'back to basics' eureka lalala in my head and it's a good notion, albeit a strange one
-------

oct 1. the start
hopefully i'll update this stuff regularly though no one would read this;
we should spread good and sometimes obscure music around, but then again obscure loses its charm when it ain't obscure no more.

ok i was just talking sh*tt to fill up the space.

details - "let go"

so let go, jump in
oh well, whatcha waiting for
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown
so let go, just get in
oh, it's so amazing here
it's alright
'cause there's beauty in the breakdown

it gains the more it gives
and then it rises with the fall
so hand me that remote
can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow

electronica and trip hop is compelling
in the sense that you stop and get drawn in,
not only by the voice, but more so by the layers
of sounds in the song.

the only difference between the two?
too much trip hop breaks you down;
electronica, esp in this case,
almost mimics a happy place, frozen in time.

ok, so much for all that bullshit.
the song is good and somehow makes me think
of a dancer when she does a jump or leap.
somewhat 'in flight'
don't ask me why.

// 028 metric studio/s

so somehow the word metric made me go
all day-dreamy about the potential possibility of
my architectural papeur modell pipe dream,
and well day dreams always kick start a multitude
of...well...more day dreams.

strange how a word can trigger such brain warps.
but it does sound like an apt name.
better than anything i've thought of before.
think method studios or meth lab.

now no one will ever believe that i'm not a druggie.

ok this was totally irrelevant. im just ripping off the band name metric.
Its one of those canadian bands that i can use to support my argument
that canadian artists have some certain flavour that's
quite compelling.

so there's metric. to add onto my list comprising of nelly furtado (!!),
avril lavigne...well neve campbell 10 yrs ago though she doesn't sing
i never could come up with the rest of the people
off the top of my head. but it doesn't matter.
canada has flavour. period.
